Reis Magos, Aguada, Sinquerim, Chapora and Terekhol — a private A/C car tour through Goa’s Portuguese-era forts, ending with a spectacular sunset at Terekhol.
Goa’s history stretches back through Mauryan, Satavahana, Kadamba and eventually Portuguese rule — nearly two centuries of Portuguese presence left behind a string of coastal forts that once guarded the coastline against Dutch and Maratha incursions. This private A/C car tour connects five of the most iconic: Reis Magos, Aguada, Sinquerim, Chapora and Terekhol.
Each stop has its own story — from Reis Magos housing visiting Viceroys, to Chapora’s Bollywood fame, to Terekhol’s unmatched sunset over the river. A driver-cum-guide accompanies you throughout, sharing the history behind each fort as you go, for a full day exploring Goa beyond its beaches.
Pickup at 8:30 AM, ending with sunset at Terekhol Fort.
Originally used to house Viceroys and dignitaries arriving from or departing to Portugal, the fort later became a military stronghold, repelling invasions from neighbouring Indian states in 1739.
Over 400 years old, built between 1609 and 1612. “Aguada” means “water” in Portuguese, named for the fort’s constant freshwater spring supply.
Built to guard Goa against the Dutch and Marathas, this fort served as a reference point for ships from Europe. Nearby Sinquerim Beach is a hub for jet skiing, paragliding and dolphin tours.
Rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1617 to defend against the Marathas, complete with underground escape tunnels. Famous for its Bollywood appearances and sweeping views of Vagator Beach.
Perched over the Terekhol River, with views of Querim and Kalacha beaches. A favourite spot to watch paragliders in the sky and end the day with a spectacular sunset.
